As I have about three weeks of free time before I go back to work for the Fall semester, I really need to buckle down and study for that pharm tech exam to get state certified.
I spent about two hours this morning going over the PTCB website to get info on exactly what I need to do to go forward.
Got it...and now it's time to go over my books, with a list that tells me exactly what I should be focusing on. Which is cool, but it's A LOT of stuff to cover...!!!
I'm hoping to take the first practice exam online by this weekend, which will show me what I need to focus on for the second practice exam.
I'll have to cough up $29 for each one too...damn!
So - this week, I may not be here as much as I usually am...LOL.
I can't wait to watch the opening ceremonies tonight! I always like to see what historical, cultural, and popular treats the host country showcase!
COMMENTS
Same here :D
Me too! :D
Wasn't it wonderful?!! Well I thought so :-)
I was in awe of the ceremony ! Brilliant :)

I can't sleep, so I'm lurking and trolling through journals at 1 am in the morning. Yipee.
Move over Picasso, Braque, and Leger:
A fellow coven member - SchrodingersCat - noticed that one of the logos for the London Games resembles Lisa Simspon giving Bart Simpson something a sister shouldn't give a brother...
COMMENTS
lol..... uuuhm. Yea... O_O
It's because he's a total nerd. That's why. LOL
He should Focus On that Damn Cat!
OMG! Too funny!!!
How do you know it is Bart? The picture could be Homer.
Well - it does look more like Bart and Lisa...lol
Wow, lol, well spotted!!
My eyes....
MY EYES!!! lol.

ME TOO!
..as they say, ''if the collar fits..''
What a nice guy, she dropped her contact lens and he's trying to find it for her. I could be wrong, I'm also bad at ink blots. -hehehe-
I saw this, it had a caption of "Don't play games with a girl who can play better" LOL
Since I don't write poetry (what little I've written pretty much sucks), I'm changing that journal section to my art section.
In it will be some of my drawings, short stories, crappy poetry, and photographs that actually come out well. LOL.
I talked with my mom for over an hour today. She was upbeat - downright funny, actually.
Part of the reason for her sunny disposition was the fact that she's decided not to move down to southern Cal. I am so happy and relieved.
I know that my youngest sister will be upset, but Mom needs to do what's in her best interests...living with or nearby my youngest sis is NOT it, for various reasons in which I will not get into here. (I love her, but I honestly think my sister is bat shit crazy).
Anyway - I'm glad that Mom will stay up here in the Bay Area, where she has her friends and favorite hangouts.
And it was sweet to have her tell me that she didn't want to move so far from me...which kinda' made me feel bad, as I haven't been visiting her like I use to (Money and health issues, which I don't need to bombard her with, ya' know)? But since I'm out of work for awhile, I will go visit her one day this week. It'll be nice.

Bat Shit Crazies....I remember being married to a few of them. LMAO!!!
You're a family gal at heart, me likes that ;-)
We all have at least one of those in our family. I am the one in mine!
Now, who would ever have guessed that?! :)
So - I've checked out my coven forums, written a few things in my journal, rated some shit in the database, read and commented in other journals, played Hangman, and will be giving out honor in a few minutes.
Breaktime!
Around 9 am this morning, someones is knocking on my front door...wtf? I'm guessing that it was a junkie looking for the dude that sells drugs from his apartment on my floor...in any case, it really pissed me off.
I was awakened AGAIN from an awesome dream. I was about to make out with this buff bald dude covered in tats (not really my type, but he was hot).
I will now place a sign outside my front door which will read:
"Any junkies who knock on this door may be shot."
I'm serious.
COMMENTS
LMAO!!!
Lol and add "castrated beforehand" that'll ensure no knocks LOL
Would you like to barrow the .50 cal? LMAO.
Maybe the AK? lol.
I slept until 1 pm today...and after watching the day's news, part of me wished that I had stayed asleep.
Everytime a senseless shooting occurs here in the US, the whole argument over guns comes to the forefront. I, for one, do believe that we need to change our gun laws. Law abiding citizens here have a right to bear arms as declared by the 2nd Amendment. But the types of arms is what is at issue.
Many say that even if the assault-type weapons were banned, criminals would still get access to them. I say, go ahead and make those types of firearms illegal. The common sense approach would be that the people who will be caught with them will be deemed as criminals, and as such, would bear the consequences.
I also think that anyone who wants to buy/sell/own firearms needs to take some type of federally mandated psychiatric test.
My two cents anyway.
I - like most of the country - am sickened and saddened by this shooting. And the really bad thing is that this won't be the last murderous rampage with guns.
COMMENTS
It is sad that this type of thing happens. I'm not even sure that a review of the gun licensing laws will help as you guys have been there before with that. I could add more to this but as this is such a sensitive subject I will just leave it.
When I first heard about it, I had the saddest and most sickening thought: 'Does anyone really care about these things anymore? Hearing about a shooting in America now is like hearing about a tornado, flood, or some other weather-related disaster. Just something that happens.' THAT is pathetic.
I agree with the psychiatric test. Totally.
My brother in law has a TON of guns (most grandfathered now) but he's of sound mind. He goes to the range with the guys and gets his bullet time on responsibly. When I went to the range with him and my sister...safety was ALWAYS first. I felt safe. Still...the sound of that .50 cal is forever burned in my mind. Even the little 9mm was enough to send me into a near panic attack.
This dude PLANNED this for so long.
I watched it unfold with my friend and my jaw just dropped. I thought I was still dreaming, actually.
I don't like saying this...but I really do hope that this dude is put to death. By the way...WHAT THE FUCK is making people so crazy in CO?!
Oh my God- I found it! And why was I looking for this? A friend and I were discussing ethnic and gender stereotypes, and I brought up seeing this band on YouTube a few years ago.
The vocalist is Chinese, and a woman. I'm sure that within the opening 25 seconds, you will agree that she isn't about serving you chow mein with a smile anytime soon...as a matter-of-fact, I can see her cuttin' you up, then shoving her microphone up your ass:
So - I'm awakened at 5:45 this morning by a woman yelling "I don't give a fuck what time it is! You better give me my mutha' fuckin' money!"
...Damned bitch jolted me out of a nice dream in which I was flying around on a magic carpet with one of my cats - Whiskers.

I feel so much better after puking my guts out.

Hope you feel better soon. And get health insurance so you can go see what this is.
*tucks you in with a fuzzy blanket*
So, last night the stomach pains returned...I've had them off and on for the past few months, but not as bad as they used to be...until last night and this morning.
Right now, I'm still in pain, but I can function and move about for now.
I risked eating yesterday, and paid for it later on. the only food item that didn't hurt me was a small bowl of oatmeal...yipee.
I had a bowl of cereal this morning, and the pain is growing a little.
Believe me, if I had medical insurance, I would have tackled this problem over two years ago.
I may start losing more weight again, but this is NOT the way to do it!
Crap.
Speaking of crap...even though it hurts at times, it's a relief when it happens.

Wow ... hope it eases off soon.
:( This is no good.Have you tried probiotics or anything along that line? Like Dan Active or Activia?
I hope you feel better hun. Hugs

I am feeling for you girl. Mine went away and came back this morn with a vengeance. *hugs*
Health insurance?! That's for rich entitled white men in Congress! /rant & sarcasm.
Hang in there!
While discussing the merits - and the negatives - of being PC, I recall how some bands leave out some of their biggest hits from their greatest hits collections. Three cases in point:
1. Devo: Devos Greatest Hits
Missing hit: 'Mongoloid'.
2. The Cure: The Cure's Greatest Hits
Missing hit: 'Killing An Arab'.
3. Suicidal Tendencies: Prime Cuts
Missing hit: 'I Shot Reagan'.
If anyone has anymore, feel free to add to this list. Thanks!
Why is that whenever I'm online - like here, for example - my virus updates start? Nevermind that I set it to run when I'm not online - at 4 am! It just does whatever the fuck it wants to do. Which is highly annoying, as it slows down and freezes whatever I'm doing at the moment.
Good grief...!
So yesterday, I went by the cashier's office at school to pick up my measly check for 7 days of work - lil' over $600. (I paid bills and did a lil' shopping for the kitties and cleaning products).
And now, I got @ $150 left. Shit.
What was trippy was when I stopped by the student center to say hi and get news regarding work...well, there's nothing yet, plus it's been slow. I did get news that some sheriff's deputies came by to pick up asshole Chef D...wtf?
I was told that he got into an argument with Chef B - who is a sweetheart - and he pushed or shoved her. Not sure exactly, but I'll get the scoop soon. Chef D is not only an asshole, but I'm also thinking that he's kinda' crazy. And being the vindictive type, I'm afraid that if he gets fired, he's going to cause problems...maybe even commit some sort of violent act.
Everyone else there thinks the same, so I hope that they're all being proactive, and that the sheriff's department is made aware of Chef D's personailty. Good grief...!!!
Well, first off, I'd like to make a public apology for being so hard and judgmental on my sis Ray. Sure, she is still self-absorbed, but she IS a caring mother. That did not come across in my previous entry.
I've also learned not to take too much stock in a story coming to me via a confused old lady (my mom), and a guy with a heavy Peruvian accent.
Between those two talking to each other, then my mom talking to me - my niece was 'missing'. Missing, as in disappeared with no one knowing what happened to her. I can say that my niece is fine, her parents are pissed off, and we are all relieved overall. In a nutshell - sort of:
* My mom spoke to my brother-in-law about my niece not being at home. Since my brother-in-law and my sis Ray are separated, he's not in the house anymore. If that was the case, he probably would have been the one to be around when the kid snuck off, ie he would've probably stopped her from leaving.
* I texted back and forth with my nephew, who assured me that his little sister was fine...So - did he help her leave? Not sure on this yet.
* My sister finally called me back Wednesday evening, and we spoke for a long time. She found out that her daughter was missing on Monday via a text message, right when she was in a company meeting. She didn't want to call and alarm anyone until she got more info from her daughter and calmed down a bit.
* My niece left with her boyfriend for the Netherlands, where she plans on going to school. She is staying with him and his family, but they are suppose to get a place of their own soon. (My niece recently turned 18 years old).
* My sis and her husband knew that their daughter wanted to go, but they had asked her to wait until the spring, so that one or both of them could actually go with her to check out the guy more, his family, the neighborhood, and the school. My niece had told them that she would wait, but lied and took off anyway. We're still trying to figure out how she was able to get a 4-year student visa...!
* My niece actually texted me too to let me know that she was okay. Like her mom, I wanted to go off on her, but I didn't. She is 18, so we're all gonna' see how she handles stuff.
* My sis said that she'd be on the first plane if something goes wrong, or if she gets that 'bad feeling'. So far, so good. They're getting Skype set up for better communication. That way, they can meet the boy's parents, and vice versa. My sis was relieved that they are not in Amsterdam...all sorts of drug and prostitution horrors were going through all of our heads. The kid's family lives in a small town. And when one thinks about it, we have more nutjob killers here in this country...
So, my niece is okay. And whenever she gets face to face with her mom, she's gonna' get it...
COMMENTS
Wow! Well I'm glad your prayer was answered from your previous journal entry. I know she's a young lady, but when I turned 18, I couldn't leave home fast enough. Only she truly knows why she did what she did. I hope all goes well for her.
And when I was 18, I used common sense and stayed at home, seeing that I couldn't afford to go out on my own yet.
The rules my mom set for living in her house were fine by me, as I still went out at night (with a 2 am curfew - mainly, so as not to disturb mom's sleep - lol). I was always a pretty responsible kid; going to school and working part time worked for us.
I was in no big rush to move out, as I knew that I was unprepared to do so at the time.
I was lucky too, in the sense that I wasn't put out when I turned 18.
I'm praying that my next entry regarding this will be good news...I just got a call from my mom - who just got a call from my brother-in-law - that my niece is missing.
No one knows where she is. She spent a few days visiting her big brother, then disappeared from his place. My brother-in-law thinks - hopes at least - that his daughter took off somewhere with her boyfriend, who is a schoolmate of hers. The thing is that this kid is originally from somewhere in Eurpoe - not sure which country - and may have gone back home, taking my niece with him.
What pisses me off, my mom, and my brother-in-law is that my sis - the mom - hasn't bothered calling any of us as to what has happened. My brother-in-law found out she was missing from my nephew. My sister is a person who is very self-absorbed, plus, she doesn't like to be lectured on her short-comings. Anyway - she pretty much ignores the rest of the family to be with her rich friends anyway.
My youngest sis - who is up here helping my mom out with stuff - is pretty shocked too.
I've left voicemail messages for my nephew, my brother-in-law, and my niece - whom I'm sure won't answer her phone.
I'm hoping that the girl is safe. This is a goddamn mess.
COMMENTS
I will keep her in my prayers. Hope they find her soon, its terrifying to have a family member turn up missing.
Blessed Be.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for happy news, sugar-
Hoping she is safe!
OMG girl *hugs* I am sending good thoughts your way. I hate when family members are acting a fool! UGH!
Blimey I hope she comes home or at least contacts her family to let them know she is safe. My thoughts are with you.
Oh no! I hope she is discovered soon, well and safe *hugs*
Grrrr.
No work yet. The school hasn't completed the books yet, and unlike last summer, I haven't received a 30-day extension on my contract. I was told that I'd get another contract, but when, exactly? This really sucks.
I've begun to look for a pharm tech job; if - by some miracle - I get one, I won't have to go through this crap with the school anymore.
And what's up with the unemployment department here? I'm suppose to get temp coverage during the long gaps of no work with the school, yet they are taking forever to get back to me via email or regular mail. (One never gets through them via the phone).
Grrrr!
COMMENTS
I hope that it sorts itself out soon for you.
Me too!
I just got email confirmation today that I'll get unemployment benefits - it will be more per week than before, which is great!
Still waiting for the college and my job enquiries...
Yay that's great news...I'll crack a tin for you.

I bet they are saying "It's Hard To Be A Pimp" or "Pimp Down, Call 911". LMAO!

Crazy twisted religious fanaticism does bad things to the brain and the heart. And it definitely shrivels up the soul.
Yes - I was attempting to be deep. Now I return you to the regularly scheduled goofiness that is my mind.

lol...
And a wonderful mind at that!
*Chuckles*
I've been having similar thoughts about religious fanaticism lately- mainly because of a friend of a friend who is a little... well....Yeah, she's a fanatic. It's exhausting being around her!
A few weeks ago, an alleged pimp was shot down by the parents of a girl that was lured back into prostitution...and I think that another pimp was killed a few months earlier.
I'll just say that I'm one of many who ain't shedding a goddamn tear.

Nooooo not da pimp daddies :O j/k
ya know I am glad to see that some parents tok that action and that people are actually going after the pimps.
and justice was meted out :)
I love when they use the term "alleged" He was a mofo'in pimp!
About time justice was served!

Damn, I missed all the BBQs! I need to save a day during the summer for one. :P
Please guys...blow off some fingers already.
I finally got around to rating profiles...a buttload of 'em too.
Again, I have to state that I prefer intelligently written content over a bunch of pictures.
COMMENTS
I seriously have a hard time forcing myself to rate...LOL
Me too...which is why it takes so long for me to do it. Well that, and the fact that my monitor is usually enveloped in semi-darkness - lol!
Rating can be boring, just did about 300 over the last week...and yes I rather spend the time reading pros that are well thought out and have more content other than one sentence and a boat load of pics.
It isn't the same as it used to be : (

A few of the gorgeous inmates I currently have in my own personal harem:
* The tall priest with the high cheekbones and luscious lips, in the long black cassock. Men of the cloth should never look so damn good.
* The tall, muscle-bound dread-wearing Jamaican surfer dude with the hazel eyes.
* The tall, buff blonde fireman.
* The tall, drunk, raven-haired, kilt-wearing Scotsman, waving around a bottle of Drambuie
(There ain't nothin' under that kilt either, except - well - you know...)
I like receiving Honor like anyone else here; but if any of you want to add goodies to the list for me, go for it! Thank you!

What about a short dark over weight British guy?
Bah...tis all about height these days lol
Ah Theban - lol!
I'm 5'8", so I'm gonna' want 'em taller than me!
I'm not muscle bound, but I am 5'10"...lol
Lol same height as Mrs ban, I am half an inch shorter because of my stupid back..lol
There's just something about a man in a kilt!
I know that many of the members here who live in the South and the eastern part of the country are suffering from the heat and/or heavy rains...and wildfires. We get the wildfires here, but are lucky in that the weather is warm to hot without being scorching hot, ie Meditteranean perfection. As a matter of fact - in Northen Cal anyway - it's been actually below average as far as heat goes. For three days in a row, it's been overcast and rather cool. When the sun finally comes out, it's almost time for the sunset - lol. And I love it!

Does not look like I will get relief this week.
Weather Underground used the term "unrelenting"
All we have in the UK is rain and floods
And up here is just as great- I'm used to 90-100 in Florida for 6 to 8 months out of the year- the temp up here in BC has not ocme out of the 60's or 70's more than a couple of days all summer- it is fabulous for me, since I hate the heat.
I'm in SoCali and love it! :)
One of my friends had to evacuate because of the High Park fire. It's been at or near a hundred for what seems like forever! It isn't usually quite this hot in Colorado! Ugh!
My second 184-day contract ended this past Thursday; and it was also the end of the fiscal year. I'm suppose to get another contract, but I have to wait for a call back to work. So, I guess I'm home for a few days...
Well - my printer is working fine now...once I plugged in a back cartridge the CORRECT way...duh!
Anyway - thanks for the printer offer, RedQueen!

I got this thing with printers too.. it's best to have a punch ball right beside one!
Hmm a blond moment!
